The curving wooden pavilion blends unobtrusively into St James's Park - an idyllic setting considering it's smack in the centre of London. Inside, it's a light-flooded space with a Scandinavian-feeling decor of tubular steel chairs, leather banquettes and apricot-topped tables. Sliding glass walls open onto a covered wooden terrace that is the trump card on a balmy day when you're in the market for fresh, impeccably seasonal British produce prepared without fuss. Start with smoked eel with horseradish and celeriac remoulade, followed by tender pink rump of lamb with kale, sautéed baby potatoes and salsa verde. For pud, try plum and apple hazelnut crumble with custard.
