Authentic decor and slick staff make this place is so Parisian it almost makes a trip on Eurostar redundant. The seasonally-inspired menus (including a great value lunch and early evening prix fixe) deliver well-executed French bistro classics with a modern touch. Witness a punchy ballotine of rabbit, boudin noir and pistachios, its richness cut by tangy spiced apricot chutney, or a splendid slab of poached Peterhead cod supported by sautéed wild mushrooms and mushroom purée, roasted salsify and fish velouté. Desserts include a masterful strawberry soufflé and sorbet, and the signature tarte Tatin is as good as it gets, while the wine list is a Francophile's dream.
