Cocochan

Not far from the craziness of Oxford Street, Cocochan offers an escape to far away continents, for your taste buds at least, for this is Pan-Asian country, where the flavours of China, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand and Korea come together harmoniously. There's an eye-catching Eastern modernism to the three dining spaces (one of which is the outdoor terrace) in the form of metallic and mirrored latticework on the walls and bamboo tables, and it's all good fun. Crabcakes with jalapeño mayo and Thai salad sums it all up pretty nicely, but there's straight-up sushi and sashimi if you wish to keep it simple. Chargrilled lamb cutlets with kimchee and nashi pear shows textbook meat cookery, or go for calamari salad with shiitaki mushrooms, shallots, Thai basil and yuzu soya. End European style with the likes of pannacotta with mixed berry compôte.
