Sally Clarke's eponymous restaurant is on two levels: a light-filled ground-floor room and a larger basement with an open-to-view kitchen. Her cooking is founded on the best, freshest produce available in the markets each day, which means the menu changes at each session. Vegetables, herbs and salad leaves are often brought from Sally's own garden. The modern British output shows Italian leanings, so Scottish squid salad comes with puntarelle and agretti, and Cornish red mullet fillets with Sardinian fregola and roasted purple artichokes. Chargrilled rib of beef is designed for sharing, and, to finish, yogurt and orange pannacotta is served with a ginger florentine.
