The bumpkin theme adds a fun note, with its chunky wood tables, corrugated walls and oil-drum seats, but this brainchild of Ollie Dabbous has plenty of substance to back up the youthful vibe, and you'll find full-flavoured, hearty dishes with broad appeal on the brown paper menu. Graze on crispy squid with chilli, lemon and lovage, then move on to grilled salmon with gooseberries, crème fraîche, samphire and walnuts, or girolles on toast with a fried duck egg. Otherwise, lobster roll with garlic and tarragon sums up what this place is all about - great ingredients cooked to maximise flavour, and served without fuss. Finish with popcorn ice cream with smoked fudge sauce.
