60 Catherine Street, LIMAVADY, Co Londonderry, NI, BT49 9DB
The Lime Tree is a pint-sized neighbourhood restaurant in the town centre, its simply painted walls hung with vibrant artwork. Main courses have taken in seafood thermidor (nuggets of plaice, monk, salmon, hake and cod in a rich cheese and brandy sauce) and fillets of lemon sole stuffed with crabmeat in creamy chive sauce, preceded perhaps by a signature starter of crab cakes. Meat-eaters, meanwhile, can choose chicken liver pâté with Cumberland sauce, then duck confit cut by classic orange sauce served with champ. Themed evenings such as Spanish are successes, and puddings can be as decadent as gooey chocolate brownie with creamy vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce.
