Killiecrankie Hotel

2 rosettes

Built for some blessed church minister back in 1840, the views across the Pass of Killiecrankie and the River Garry will soothe the troubled soul of any visitor. The kitchen delivers a fixed-price à la carte that comes with suggestions for accompanying wines. A tian of crayfish makes a classic opener, with avocado, pink grapefruit and crème fraîche, or go for a twice-baked goats' cheese brûlée with micro basil and red onion marmalade. Follow on with pan-fried fillet of Highland venison with a damson plum jus, or a salad of poached salmon and prawns with lemon and herb mayonnaise. Plum and stem ginger tarte Tatin is a winning dessert.
