Gordon's
Main Street,
INVERKEILOR,
DD11 5RN
Tucked in at one end of the village, the restored Victorian end-terrace house with its unmissable red and blue frontage is home to the Watsons' long-running family business. Parents and son have the practice of hospitality off to a fine art, and with its riot of tartan fabrics, and wealth of pedigree seasonal produce, the place is not shy about celebrating its heritage. Good things flow from Gordon and Garry's kitchen, not least a signature starter dish of whole boned quail with Stornoway black pudding, Puy lentils and thyme blinis. Follow that with olive-crusted baked hake with carrot and courgette 'tagliatelle' in shellfish sauce, or a pairing of Forfar beef fillet and braised ox cheek, sweetly offset with shallot confit and vanilla parsnips in a Pinot Noir jus. A bracing dessert combination such as mango parfait with pineapple compôte and lychee sorbet makes a refreshing change from chocolate and toffee. Don't miss the excellent breads.

I have enjoyed Gordon and Maria Watson's welcoming hospitality a few times over the years. And have always been impressed by there succulent meals.their pride and devotion to using only the very best of Scottish produce in the most imaginative creations in Fine Dining. The quality wines and liqueurs on offer are a delight and complement a most memorable meal.
The very Best in Fine Dining.

In a warm and cosy atmosphere, Maria and her husband Gordon offer excellent food based on local ingredients. They call it 'modern scottish cooking', I call it just delicous, visionary composed and arranged. The excellent wine list completes the experience.
