Llanerch Vineyard

1 rosettes

Around 22 acres of south-facing slopes of the Ely Valley have been planted with vines since 1986, and you can raise a glass to the industrious owners while dining in their restaurant or bistro. The latter offers simple fare such as Welsh rarebit, sandwiches or a gourmet burger, while in the evening restaurant there's celeriac soup, say, with poached pears and watercress, or pan-seared pollack with fennel velouté. Welsh meats figure large - Duffryn Bach lamb rump with an accompanying Wellington, or haunch of Bwlch venison with orange-scented red cabbage - and desserts run to a zesty glazed pineapple number. To wash it down - what else? - Welsh wine.
