Fortingall Hotel

1 rosettes

Fortinghall is very much a tourist destination, many of whom end up at this Victorian country-house hotel. Dining takes place in two rooms, the main one done out in Arts and Crafts style, with a red carpet, an open fire, paintings on the walls and tartan-effect curtains. Dinner might open with skilfully made chicken and duck liver pâté served with home-made chutney and melba toast, before a main course such as rump of lamb sliced on tasty provençale vegetables with dauphinoise and a flavour-packed Madeira jus. Canapés are offered, breads are freshly baked and to finish there may be a glass of silky white chocolate mousse topped with local raspberries.
