Crewe Hall

Weston Road, CREWE, CW1 6UZ

1 rosettes

Jacobean Crewe Hall is reminiscent of a grand stately home with magnificent interiors, but there's nothing stuffy about it, and that especially goes for the Brasserie, housed in a modern wing of the building, with its open-plan layout and buzzy atmosphere. There's tikka spicing in a first-course pressing of lamb belly (with Indian-inspired accompaniments), and soy and honey enriching slow-cooked onglet steak among main courses. There's simplicity in a fish dish of pan-fried stone bass with hollandaise sauce, a pasta option of home-made pappardelle with goats' cheese, and steaks cooked on the grill. Finish with a fashionably modern warm bitter chocolate construction with chocolate soil and yogurt sorbet.
