Cashel House Hotel

CASHEL, Co Galway, ROI,

2 rosettes

Standing at the head of Cashel Bay in 50 acres of delightful gardens, Cashel House is a gracious 19th-century country pile that has belonged to the McEvilly family since 1968. The restaurant offers French-accented classics, served in either an airy conservatory extension, or a polished traditional setting amid antiques and artworks. Local materials are handled simply and with confidence. Pan-fried kidneys on toast with wholegrain mustard sauce sets the ball rolling before a sorbet or soup, then Dover sole, grilled on the bone, comes with herb butter, or there could be Connemara lamb shank with chilli and tomato. Finish with classic crme brle.
