Description
Close to the market town of Builth Wells, this attractive restaurant with rooms is set in a graceful, beautifully refurbished Georgian country residence. The intimate dining room has a refined feel with subtle wall colours adorned with eye-catching French prints and an uncluttered atmosphere. The kitchen's modern British approach - underpinned by a classical French theme - delivers clean, unfussy flavours using quality local ingredients. Take Cardigan Bay crab salad with king prawns, Avruga caviar and mustard mayonnaise to start, followed by pan-roasted breast of Goetre Farm duck and confit leg with boudin blanc, braised red cabbage and pan jus with blueberries and Herefordshire cassis, with perhaps a hot apple, Calvados and praline soufflé with caramel ice cream to finish.
