The Grove, BRISTOL, BS1 4RB

1 rosettes

This lively venue is glazed from top to bottom to make the most of its harbourside location, both from the ground-floor café-bar and the industrial-chic first-floor restaurant. Inspiration is drawn from far and wide to create bright, up-to-date dishes rooted in good culinary sense. Cauliflower and potato soup gets a kick of harissa oil, and confit duck is partnered by Wagyu beef and served with lomo, smoked pickled peach and chicory. They may precede chargrilled pork skirt with morcilla, panisse, greens and rhubarb or more familiar roast chicken breast with provençale sauce, mash and spring greens. Enterprising puddings include tarte de Santiago with orange ice cream and kumquats.
