Situated in a Victorian terrace, the airy space with an open-to-view kitchen is served by a smartly turned-out team. One or two dishes on the menu have an Asian flavour - witness a starter of salt and chilli squid served with classic dipping sauces of sweet chilli, wasabi mayonnaise, and soy, garlic and chilli. Otherwise, start with something like foie gras and chicken liver parfait with apple and chilli jelly, and toasted walnut and raisin bread. Main-course wood pigeon is scented with smoky Lapsang Souchong, and comes with celeriac purée, deep-fried kale, and beetroot. For pudding, vanilla cheesecake is matched with textures of blood orange and almond praline.
