Stunning views across to Cardigan Bay are a given at this imposing restored Victorian house. Inside the hotel feels fresh and minimalist thanks to white walls and clean lines, indeed the lounge and bedrooms have something of the New England style about them. The spacious restaurant with French doors opening onto the garden is also simply decorated - think crisp white linen, fresh flowers on the tables and comfortable deep blue velvet upholstered chairs. Unruffled contemporary cooking is delivered informally by a young team; expect the likes of grilled red mullet on a bed of chunky tomato and fresh herbs, local Welsh mountain lamb chumps with root mash and redcurrant gravy, and home-made Black Forest trifle to finish.
