Church Street, WEST HANNEY, OX12 0LN
Thatched with four 'eyebrows', the Plough dates from around 1525, when it was a row of cottages. The landlord enjoys responsibility for such things as choosing the six rolling real ales and organising the Easter, Spring and Summer bank holiday beer festivals. From the kitchen come home-cooked, seasonal dishes such as pan-seared devilled lamb's kidneys, coriander, smoked bacon and spring onions; and slow-cooked pork belly with creamy mash, red onions and glazed apples. For a treat in summer, dine in the pretty walled garden.
