Ye Olde Salutation Inn
Market Pitch,
WEOBLEY,
HR4 8SJ
Proprietor Stuart Elder took over this 17th-century black and white timber-framed pub in April 2011 - 12 years after he worked here as a chef for the previous owners. The inn, sympathetically converted from an old ale house and adjoining cottage, is the perfect base for exploring the Welsh Marches and enjoying a host of leisure activities, including fishing, horse riding, golf, walking, and clay shooting. The book capital of Hay-on-Wye and the cathedral city of Hereford are close by, as are the Wye Valley and Black Mountains. The inn's restaurant offers a range of tempting dishes created with the use of locally sourced ingredients. Chef's specials and old favourites are also served in the traditional lounge bar with its welcoming atmosphere and cosy inglenook fireplace. Start, perhaps, with smoked haddock, spring onion and Ricotta tartlet; or pan-fried kidneys in tomato and mustard sauce. Continue with baked cod fillet on roast Mediterranean vegetables; stuffed aubergine rolls with chick peas, pine nuts and vegetables in Moroccan spices, or steak and ale pie. Light bites, salads, rolls, sandwiches and omelettes are also available.

Best Inn in Weobley. Stayed for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely room with very comfortable bed, didnt want for anything. Lovely soft towels always renewed. Lovely biscuits with teamaking facilities in the room. Great food and well presented. Such friendly staff made us feel so welcome. We hope to go again.
