The Brocket Arms

Ayot St Lawrence, WELWYN, AL6 9BT

Parts of The Brocket Arms date back to 1378 when it was built as a monks' hostel; it became a tavern in the 1630s. The pub is encircled by a picturesque village that was once home to George Bernard Shaw. Huge oak beams and hefty hearths greet you along with a great range of real ales and wines. Food options range from Spanish frittata in the bar, to full meals such as wild mushroom risotto infused with truffle oil followed by fish of the day with saffron, chorizo, mussel and clam new potato broth. Finish with classic crème brûlée.
