The Bath Arms

Clay Street, Crockerton, WARMINSTER, BA12 8AJ

This 17th-century pub was part of the Marquess of Bath's Longleat Estate, until death duties forced its sale in 1923. The bar, serving Hobdens Wessex Crockerton Classic and Potter's beers, has that genuine 'real local' feel; in winter the log-burner can be an especially welcome sight. The Garden Suite, with views across the lawn, provides additional seating on busy weekends. An extensive menu offers light snacks and baguettes; signature dish 'Sticky Beef'; venison steak hâché with white asparagus and fried egg; shepherd's pie with crushed peas; grilled salmon, fennel and salad; and potato gnocchi with artichokes, peas and pecorino cheese.
