The Crab at Chieveley

This lovely old thatched dining pub has an award-winning seafood restaurant, which makes it the perfect place to break a tedious M4 journey or chill out at on a summer evening. Specialising in fish dishes and with fresh deliveries daily, the continuously-changing menu in the maritime-themed restaurant offers mouth-watering starters such as Carlingford Loch oysters, followed by catch of the day, venison loin, bouillabaisse or Cornish lobster thermidor. The interesting dessert menu has treacle and pistachio tart with apricot purée and pistachio anglaise. Beers are from West Berkshire Brewery and 13 boutique bedrooms complete the package.
