Oddfellows in the Boat

On the main road between Walsall and Lichfield, The Boat once served bargees on the now-disused Curly Wyrley canal to the rear. Although the pub does hold its own beer festival, real ale lovers can enjoy what amounts to a rolling beer festival all year thanks to an ever-changing choice from local micro-breweries. Locally sourced dishes are prepared in an open kitchen and chalked up daily, with popular options including slow-roast shoulder of lamb with buttered greens and red wine jus, and cod fillet with prawns and brown shrimp.
