Saxon Arms
STRATTON,
DT2 9WG
With its solid oak beams, log-burning stove and flagstone floors, this pretty thatched flint-stone free house makes a great first impression. Popular with the local community, fishermen and cycling clubs, the pub is also handy for riverside walks. It remains true to the principles of the traditional English pub with its hearty welcome, wholesome pub food and real ales. Menu choices include Dorset Blue Vinny rarebit; local faggots with onion gravy; red onion tart Tatin with crumbled goat's cheese; and chef's chicken and ham pie.

we had telephoned for a booking 4 days in advance. Told me booking was fine. When we got there they had not booked our table. Food was very poor, items described on the menu were not on you plate when our meals arrived.
Staff looked like they were doing you a favour if the served you. Very Very poor
