Steeped in history, The Jigger was a stationmaster's lodge in the 1800s on a railway line that disappeared many years ago. Located in the grounds of The Old Course Hotel, its close proximity to the world-famous St Andrew's golf course means that it is home to some impressive golfing memorabilia. Don't be surprised if you are sharing the bar with a caddy or a golfing legend fresh from a game. Crackling open-hearth fires, traditional Scottish pub hospitality and plenty of golfing gossip are the backdrop for a selection of Scottish beers, including St Andrew's Best and Jigger Ale. All-day availability is one advantage of a short, simple menu that lists soups, inviting sandwiches and quenelles of haggis, neeps and tatties as starters, and continues with Jigger burger with Mull cheddar, Ayrshire bacon and fries; shepherd's pie with roasted root vegetables; pork and honey sausages on colcannon mash; and desserts such as apple and pear crumble.
