The Milk House

The Street, SISSINGHURST, TN17 2JG

In picturesque Sissinghurst, this 16th-century, former hall house is very much the hub of the village. With its timber beams and Tudor fireplace, the pub has considerable charm and locals supping pints of Kentish-brewed Old Dairy Brewery ale mingle with destination diners tempted by the acclaimed food. Most of the produce comes from a 20-mile radius of the pub and dishes such as navarin of Romney Marsh lamb with root vegetables and minted pearl barley; or sumac-crusted sea bass, avocado purée and quinoa, cucumber, pomegranate and parsley salad sit happily alongside innovative home-made pizzas and a top-notch children's menu.
