Husband and wife team Paul and Hayley Rowlands have now been at the helm of this 17th-century free house for more than a decade. The bar stocks good West Country ales and local ciders, and the restaurant's traditional menu pleases locals and tourists alike with home-made pie of the day, southern fried chicken fillet, vegetable curry, beef lasagne, chargrilled steaks and lunchtime sandwiches. Gardens, a skittle alley, two steak nights a week, a Sunday carvery and a beer festival in September round off the attractions of this homely pub.
