The Guildhall Tavern

Two minutes from Poole's historic quay and located in the heart of the old town, this former cider house has been impressively refurbished without losing any of its traditional charm. Beautifully fresh seafood reflects the owners' Gallic roots, so you could start with snails in garlic butter, followed by pan-fried duck breast with Grand Marnier and orange gravy. Other main course options might include whole sea bass flambéed with Pernod or double-baked cheese soufflé. Leave room for hazelnut meringue filled with cream and raspberries. French themed evenings are held monthly.
