Peter Tavy Inn

PETER TAVY, Tavistock, PL19 9NN

Although this building on the western flanks of Dartmoor dates from the 15th century, it is likely that it became a pub by the early 17th century. It is thought the inn was originally built as a type of farmhouse called a Devon longhouse. It is now as much a draw for its range of local real ales and ciders as it is its food, much of it sourced locally. Their pies are the most popular main dishes, while there are always vegetarian and vegan options. Wash down belly of pork or teriyaki chicken with pints of Dartmoor Jail Ale or Sam's Poundhouse Dry Cider.
