The Boat Inn

Lone Lane, PENALLT, NP25 4AJ

Dating back over 360 years, this riverside pub has served as a hostelry for quarry, mill, paper and tin mine workers, and even had a landlord operating a ferry across the Wye at shift times. The unspoilt slate floor is testament to the age of the place. The excellent selection of real ales complements the menu well, with choices ranging from various ploughman's to lamb stifado or the charmingly-named pan haggerty. Ideal for walkers taking the Offa's Dyke or Wye Valley walks.
