The New Inn

This thatched village pub, deep in Daphne du Maurier country near the Helford River, dates back to Cromwellian times, although obviously Cromwell forbade his men to drink here. Attractions include the homely bars and large, natural garden full of flowers. At lunchtime you might opt for a roast beef and horseradish sandwich, in the evening perhaps fillets of monkfish sautéed in a creamy Pernod sauce or steak and stilton pie. There are separate menus dedicated to crab dishes and steaks.
