The Apple Inn

Larger villages than tiny Lucker have lost their pub, but the Apple, which reopened in 2015, is in good hands. Beer drinkers in the wooden-floored bar enjoy Alnwick Brewery's Amber and Gold real ales, while diners in the tartan-carpeted restaurant relish Craster kippers; Whitby scampi; and local black pudding and melted Northumbrian Nettle cheese stack. Or, they might consider chicken casserole with roasted mini vegetables and sage dumplings; lamb shank with creamy mash, seasonal vegetables and minted gravy; or hand-made burgers. Some children might prefer toad-in-the-hole or battered fish and chips. There's plenty of room for eating and drinking outside too.
