The Lamb and Flag

33 Rose Street, Covent Garden, LONDON, WC2E 9EB

Licensed during the reign of Elizabeth I, The Lamb and Flag exudes a strong atmosphere, with low ceilings, wood panelling and high-backed settles both striking features of the bar. In 1679 the poet Dryden was almost killed in a nearby alley. These days office workers and Covent Garden tourists throng the surrounding streets. Typical examples of the hot food served upstairs include Cumberland sausages, chips and beans; and roast beef, pork, lamb or chicken. There is a courtyard to enjoy in fine weather.
