This is an upmarket, backstreet Chelsea pub close to the King's Road and the river. Celebrities and the notorious rub shoulders with the aristocracy and the local road sweeper in the bright, vibrant atmosphere, while the stuffed brown bear, Canadian moose and boar bring a character of their own to the bar. Food is served here and in the quiet upstairs dining room, with a focus on fish and steak. The menu also offers chilli con carne, home-made burgers, award-winning sausages, and roasts on Sundays. The interesting platters are great to share: a selection of mini pies; vegetarian meze; charcuterie and crusty bread; and whole baked camembert. Good staff-customer repartee makes for an entertaining atmosphere, and there are quiz and live music nights. There was a change of hands at the end of 2011.
