The Belle Vue

An independently owned freehouse overlooking the 220 acres of Clapham Common, one of South London's largest green spaces. Free internet access makes it a great place to catch up on work or leisure pursuits, with a coffee, hot snack or some tapas-style nibbles close at hand. A daily changing bistro-style lunch and dinner menu specialises in fish and shellfish, such as pan-fried giant tiger prawns in Thai spices; grilled marlin steak with pepper sauce; dressed Cornish crab salad; and chef's special fish pie. Other possibilities are braised leg of rabbit; steak and kidney pie; Thai green chicken curry; and Mediterranean vegetarian lasagne. Sunday lunch is very popular, and in addition to all the regular roasts are fish and vegetarian dishes. The wine list features over 25 wines and champagnes by the glass, and Harvey's Sussex Bitter is the house real ale.
