The Trout Inn

St Johns Bridge, LECHLADE ON THAMES, GL7 3HA

When workmen constructed a new bridge over the Thames in 1220, they built an almshouse to live in. It became an inn in 1472, and its flagstone floors and beams now overflow into the old boathouse. The extensive menu features meat, fish and vegetarian options, as well as pizzas, filled jacket potatoes and burgers. This family-friendly pub offers smaller portions for children, who also have their own separate menu. The large garden often hosts live jazz, and there's a beer festival in June.
