34 The Green, INGHAM, LN1 2XT
This lovely old limestone and pantile pub stands at a corner of the huge green in a secluded village at the foot of Lincoln Edge. Drinkers relaxing at garden tables and enjoying a real ale from Horncastle or Welbeck Abbey may be startled by the Red Arrows, practicing from nearby RAF Scampton. The pub's three bars and restaurant area exude the character that has gained it Grade II listing; an appealing destination in which to enjoy highly individual seasonal dishes crafted by a talented kitchen team. Pigeon pie starter gives the measure of the locally sourced produce; continue then with chilli con carne made with seared venison haunch; or charred salmon fish stew. A summer beer festival is held.
