Fine wines and ales and fine Indian cuisine is not how an inn normally sets out its stall, but this 17th-century former coaching inn is quite happy to be a little unorthodox. Independently run Harrold's Indian Cuisine restaurant offers dishes cooked to order to eat in or take away, its extensive menu featuring all the popular fish, meat, poultry and vegetarian dishes, as well as the less often encountered tandoori chicken mossallam, duck Darjeeling, and tawa specialities cooked using a traditional iron plate. A few English dishes are also available. The bar serves Ringwood Best, Abbot Ale, and regularly-changing guest ales from local breweries. Sports fans will appreciate the large-screen TVs. Members of the pub-sponsored local football team can often be found in the bar on Sunday lunchtimes after their match.
