Bottle & Glass

High Street, HARBY, NG23 7EB

One of the Exceedingly Small group's three pubs, the Bottle & Glass is in the village where Edward I's wife, Eleanor, died in 1290. With flagged floors and heavy beams, it offers Young's Bitter and London Gold, Black Sheep real ales, and a generous 24 wines by the glass. Starters on the short, seasonal lunch/dinner menu include tomato and red pepper soup; and ham hock terrine with cucumber pickle: mains typically include herb-crusted rack of lamb with redcurrant jus; linguine with Mediterranean vegetables; and pan-fried sea bass on piperade. On sunny days stake an early claim for a terrace table.
