GRAIGFECHAN, LL15 2EU
From the 12th to the 19th century drovers broke their journeys here on their way to market, and their livestock would graze on the adjacent field, now a campsite. The interior of this 1777 building is warm and traditional, with oak beams, open fires and brassware. Local brews are served in jugs straight from casks in the rock-hewn cellar, a practice that nostalgic regulars appreciate. Rosie's Triple D (Drovers at Dafarn Dywyrch) cider is local too. In the restaurant, enjoy curried cod loin with sag aloo; pan-fried Gressingham duck; and five-spice vegetables in plum and hoi sin sauce. Beer festivals are in March, July and October.
