Green Cross Inn

GOUDHURST, TN17 1HA

In an unspoiled corner of Kent, close to Finchcocks Manor, and originally built to serve the Paddock Wood-Goudhurst railway line, which closed in 1968, this thriving dining pub specialises in fresh seafood. Arrive early to bag a table in the dining room, prettily decorated with fresh flowers, and tuck into Cornish cock crab, sea bass with spring onions, ginger, soy sauce and white wine, or seafood paella, or go for the fillet steak pan fried with peppercorns, brandy and cream, followed by pannacotta with raspberry coulis; all freshly prepared by the chef/owner who is Italian and classically trained.
