The Blackcock Inn
Description
Stone walls, log fires and original beams reflect the 17th-century origins of this traditional family-run free house. An ideal base for walking, boating and fishing, it sits close to Kielder Water and is handy for the Rievers cycle route. The food draws on excellent local produce, with options ranging from light lunchtime snacks through to full evening meals in the intimate Chatto's restaurant: perhaps Japanese-style king prawns followed by lamb shank in red wine and rosemary.
