Turfcutters Arms

Main Road, EAST BOLDRE, SO42 7WL

Five miles south of Beaulieu, this New Forest pub, easily recognised by its white picket fence, attracts cyclists, ramblers, dog-walkers and locals all year round. In winter the open fires warm the cockles, while the lovely garden comes into its own in summer. Good beer including Ringwood and draught ciders such as Thatchers complement a menu of unpretentious pub grub including baguettes, jacket potatoes and main meals such as curry of the day; Billingsgate fish pie; home-cooked Hampshire ham, a brace of free-range eggs and chips; and veggie quiche of the day. Children have their own menu, and canine treats are handed out at the bar. Maybe time a visit for their annual beer festival.
