The Brunswick Inn

1 Railway Terrace, DERBY, DE1 2RU

'A True Ale House and Brewery' it says on the sign outside this Grade II listed pub, which the Midland Railway built in the 1840s. It has no fewer than 16 hand-pumps, six for Brunswick ales brewed on the premises, the rest for guest beers. Real ciders are brought up from the cellar. Bar lunches are typically ploughman's, steak and ale pie, and chilli and cheese (either cheddar or stilton), which is billed on the menu as 'cha-cha-cha'. There's a beer festival during the first weekend in October.
