The Sun Inn
Corfton,
CRAVEN ARMS,
SY7 9DF
First licensed in 1613, this historic pub has been run by the Pearce family since 1984. Landlord Norman Pearce brews the Corvedale ales in what was the pub's old chicken and lumber shed, using local borehole water; Mahorall cider, from just down the road, is another drinks option. Teresa Pearce uses local produce in a delicious array of traditional dishes - faggots and mushy peas, ocean pie, beef in ale. There are plenty of vegetarian and some vegan options. The pub holds a beer festival in May and is close to the ramblers' paradise of Clee Hill and Long Mynd.

I have visited this public house several times over the last few years and have always found a warm and relaxing welcome, the food has been very good, although i do think the portions are more than generous, the locals are always friendly and chatty, well recommended.

The award winning ale here is incredible, especially as it is brewed in the micro-brewery in the garden. We have taken a guided tour around the brewery and Brewer Norman Pearce is always happy to share his enthusiam and knowledge on his experties. On accassions we have eaten here, we have always left feeling comfortably satisfied. The locals and staff make us feel very welcome and we always look forward to our next visit.

Friendly and welcoming service. Dogs welcome only in beer reeking and very basic public bar. We ordered fish and chips. The batter was almost impenetrable. It was a mystery how a batter shell this hard could be made. When accessed the fish was tasteless as were the accompanying insipid vegetables. In short the meal was a huge disappointment.
