The Swan Inn
Petworth Road,
CHIDDINGFOLD,
GU8 4TY
Nestling among the Surrey Hills in the village of Chiddingfold between Guildford and Petworth, the Swan is typical of the coaching inns that used to serve customers travelling to or from the south coast. Rebuilt in the 1880s and refurbished to a high standard in 2010, the Swan today combines village pub with fine dining and luxurious boutique-style accommodation. Among the ales are those brewed by the Surrey Hills Brewery, and more than a dozen wines from the cosmopolitan list are served by the glass. The menu also has international appeal, with tasty produce such as Scottish salmon, Parma ham and foie gras appearing among the best of local ingredients. A typical choice could be an appetiser of confit chicken and pork rillettes with sauce gribiche; a main course of pan-seared lamb's liver with celeriac mash; and dessert of apricot and frangipane tart with vanilla ice cream. The inn holds an annual beer festival in September.

Our wedding party stayed in this hotel this weekend and were most disapointed with the attitude of the staff and managment and service we recieved. The rooms did not refect the 4 stars awarded. Sick on the balcony and broken showers. The food was limited as they run out and no apologise were given. The beds were not made daily neither were the rooms cleaned. Snacks ordered for the bride and bridesmaids were left in the room until be left. A most disapointing experience.
