Black Horse Inn
CAYTHORPE,
NG14 7ED
Expect good old-fashioned hospitality in this small, beamed country pub, which has been run by the same family for three generations. It has its own brewery, producing Caythorpe Dover Beck bitter (named after the stream that runs past the pub), a coal fire in the bar, and delicious home-cooked food prepared from seasonal ingredients. Fresh fish dishes such as mussels or fried fillet of cod with parsley sauce are a speciality. Other choices might include melon and continental ham followed by sausages with creamed potato and home-made gravy. Good local walks.
