Yew Tree Inn

CAULDON, Stoke-on-Trent, ST10 3EJ

Alan East has now been joined by his stepson Dan to help run this 400-year-old pub, which has been in the family for over 50 years. An Aladdin's cave of antiques and curios - including an ancient Grecian urn, penny-farthings and a pair of Queen Victoria's stockings - the Yew Tree is affectionately known as the 'junk shop with a bar'. A modest but hearty menu offers locally made pies and pasties; and made-to-order sandwiches, all ready to be accompanied by a pint of Rudgate Ruby Mild. Time a visit for the July beer festival.
