Crown & Trumpet

Just behind the green in this internationally-known picture-postcard village is the Crown & Trumpet, a traditional, 17th-century, mellow-stone inn. The classic beamed bar is just the place for a pint of Cotswold Spring Codger, or Stanway's Cotswold Gold bitter, or you can take it out into the peaceful patio garden; a winter alternative is a glass of mulled wine or a hot toddy by the fire. Classic pub food at lunch and dinner includes battered haddock; chilli con carne; pan-fried breast of chicken and chorizo; and vegetable lasagne. There's musical entertainment every Saturday evening, and monthly jazz and blues evenings.
