88 Havelock Road, BRIGHTON, BN1 6GF
Tucked away in the residential backstreets of Brighton, Preston Park Tavern is a light and airy gastro-pub with an open kitchen. At lunchtime, the hearty sandwiches are made with organic granary bread or home-made focaccia, and there are main courses of grilled plaice and a beef, horseradish and thyme burger. The evening menu moves up a gear with slow-roasted Sussex pork belly with kale and bacon rösti; and carrot, ginger and coriander fritters. Sunday lunches are worth booking for and the set lunch menu during the week is very good value. Children are welcomed and have their own menus. The pub also has a sustainability award.
