The Ship Inn

Main Road, BARNOLDBY LE BECK, Nr Grimsby, DN37 0BG

Set in a picturesque village on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds, this 300-year-old inn has always attracted an interesting mix of customers, from Grimsby's seafarers to aviators from the county's World War II airstrips. The bar is filled with maritime bric-à-brac and serves a grand choice of ales such as Black Sheep or Tom Wood's, and there's also a beautiful garden. Seafood is a speciality so tuck into pan-fried cod cheeks with pea purée and chorizo, and then whole salt-crusted sea bass, coriander and chilli rice and stir-fried vegetables.
